This compact space needed an overhaul. It was dark and outdated, lacking storage and function. The client wanted a more open feel to the entire main floor area as the kitchen was closed off to the living space. Due to structural concerns, we needed to leave a partial wall to accommodate a post, beam and duct work. We created an island that butts up to this wall, which allows for the light to shine through both spaces and now shows off the fabulous new cabinetry and finishes of the kitchen.
